DTU Nanotech

DTU Nanotech is the coordinator of the project. DTU Nanotech represents a cross-disciplinary research environment where micro and nanotechnology are applied to a wide range of scientific disciplines, e.g. mechanics, optics, chemistry, medical technologies, and biotechnology.

The majority of our scientific projects are conducted in collaboration with industry partners. DTU offers a comprehensive course plan with theoretical and experimental courses that allows students with various scientific backgrounds to learn about the different facets of micro- and nanotechnology. In the past decade DTU has generated 10 start-up and spin-off companies.

DTU Informatics
DTU Informatics, the Section for Image Analysis and Computer Graphics - Image analysis and computer graphics play decisive roles in automating processes and in our daily lives. Both are closely linked to statistics, algorithms, scientific computing, optics, camera/sensor technology, graphics hardware and application areas, e.g. life science, medical imaging, material science, food control, geoinformatics. The section covers the spectrum from basic to strategic research and emphasizes commercialization. Focus is to maintain a strong methodological research base, and transform this into useful results in teaching, consultancy, and innovation through applied research.

DTU Chemistry
DTU Chemistry has broad research activities in chemistry, divided into three sections: Organic, Inorganic and Physical Chemistry. Organic Synthesis underpins all of the research projects in the Section for Organic Chemistry, the major areas of focus being: development of catalytic reactions, chemical biology, complex molecule synthesis, NMR spectroscopy, peptide and carbohydrate chemistry and molecular modeling. Fundamental research in organic chemistry provides the starting point for applied projects in related fields such as medicinal chemistry/early drug discovery and materials science.

Rigshospitalet – Oncology and Radiation Oncology
Dept. of Oncology and Radiation Oncology form the largest Department of Clinical Oncology in Denmark. Over 2,500 patients per year with newly diagnosed cancer are treated with radiotherapy and/or chemotherapy. In radiation oncology we have extensive research programmes in advanced, high precision radiotherapy techniques with several PhD students and Postdoc researchers, with projects in image guidance, respiratory movement management, and advanced imaging for highly conformal treatments and focused dose escalation.
